The Izmailovsky is one of the largest shopping markets that can be found in Moscow. The whole center is set outdoors and has a wide selection of crafts, paintings, and souvenirs among other things. This makes it very appealing to tourists who can find the perfect gifts to bring home to friends and family back home. There are also venues where you can grab a bite to eat and something to drink making it even easier for you to replenish throughout the day and go on with your shopping. After you have finished doing your shopping you can go next door to the Vernisage - which is the Kremlin fortress at Izmailovo. At this Kremlin you can visit more shops, restaurants, and take a walk through the Museum of the History of Vodka.
You can visit the Izmailovsky market on any day - but Saturdays and Sundays are the more popular days and the better days to go on because all of the shops are open. On the weekdays only some shops are open leaving you with a much slimmer selection to choose from. |
