Gorky Park

Written by moscowrussiaguide.com

Gorky Park is one of the most popular attractions in Moscow. Its fame increased after it became the subject of a book, and later a movie, both entitled "Gorky Park".

If you would like to visit this Moscow attraction during your next visit to the Russian capital then please note that the opening hours are from 11:00 until 20:00.
Gorky Park, which is named for Maxim Gorky, was first opened in 1928. It is 1.2 square kilometers (300 acres) in area. The park was created by combining the gardens at Neskuchny Palace and Golitsyn Hospital.

There are many rides and other activities for children at Gorky Park, including a giant Ferris wheel. The original Buran spacecraft is on display as part of a "Cosmic Experience" that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike.

You can ice skate around the park in the winter, when footpaths flood and the water on them freezes.

Park Kultury Metro Station is the train station closest to Gorky Park.
